Trek Pyrenees by Ubicarta is a digital field guide for trekking across the Pyrenees moutain range in the south of France.
It includes routes, descriptions and photos for the 52 daily sections.
Each trail has an elevation profile, a statistic analysis, a detailed description, several photos and a POIs list.
OFFLINE MAPS - POIS - GUIDE-BOOK
The application offers offline maps and an extensive introduction on geography, geology, the most important settlements and monuments and the nature of the Pyrenees. The app offers also a useful list of POIs with a comprehensive search engine.
ACTIVE GUIDING AND NAVIGATION
In the field, the application identifies the nearest path and actively guides you to it and then along it, with continuous messages to the user, while pops-up photos on every interesting terrain feature close to his position.
If the hiker position is more than 20 meters far from the trail, the application warns him and suggests how to go back.
DATA ACCURACY
To build the application and ensure data accuracy, all the cartographic information has been recorded between 2015 and 2018.
