With over 25 years of classical violin training, and well over a thousand band/orchestral/recital performances, Asher Laub has become an international improvisational sensation. Proficient in piano, drums, guitar, and mandolin, Asher's experience composing EDM, hiphop, rock, middle eastern, jazz and classical music enables him to incorporate the violin into any given genre of music.
Asher's expertise in trans-genre improvisation has led to a career as a soloist in demand, performing at venues such as Madison Square Garden, B.B. King, Hammerstein Hall, Central Park, Lincoln Center, and the Jacob Javitz Center in front of thousands. Asher performs with two state of the art violins - a traditional acoustic violin and a modern, glass, electric violin, both of which can be amplified if required.
"When I first met Asher, I had seen his resume but knew nothing about him personally. When he showed up for his audition, I was suprised to see this young man walk in. I was completely taken by surprise. With the experience he had I was expecting someone much older. Rosemary, my coordinator, had sent him "Desert Dance" to prepare for the audition. This piece features violin and guitar. I had always envisioned someone really tearing into the piece on violin as it has a fun rhythm that is just perfect for soloing. Apparently, Rosemary had told Asher nothing about what I was looking for in the performance and decided to let him just "go" with what he was feeling. Obviously a wise decision...he not only tore into it, he "shredded" it! He is an incredible talent, truly gifted and a pleasure to work with."
