APACHE II is the acronym for "Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II" is a classification system or severity of disease severity, one of several scoring systems (scoring) used in Intensive Care Units (ICU).
This is applied within 24 hours of admission of the patient to an ICU: an integer value from 0 to 71 is calculated based on several measures. At higher scores or score, you are more severe disease and a higher risk of death.
