Description:

Mahar comes from Arabic. In the Koran the term mahar is called al-sadaq, al-saduqah, al-nihlah, al-ajr, al-faridah and al-‘aqd. According to the term syara 'mahar is a gift that must be given by the husband to the wife because of marriage.
Giving dowry by the husband as a symbol of the husband's sincerity towards his wife. In addition, giving dowry is also to reflect the love and willingness of a husband to live with his wife and be able to sacrifice for the welfare of the household and family. Giving dowry marriage is also a respect of a husband for his wife. However, giving marriage dowry is not included in the pillars of marriage or the legal requirements of a marriage. If the couple agrees to marry without determining the amount of dowry, the marriage is still valid but the husband is obliged to pay a dowry missile (which is commensurate).

Types of marriage marriages according to Islam:
- Mahar Musamma: Namely the dowry determined by its level following the agreement of both parties
- Mahar Musamma Mu'ajjal: Mahar kahwin called in the contract and paid immediately and in cash
- Mahar Musamma Muajjal: Mahar kahwin called in the contract and paid in a formidable and debt
- Mahar Mithil: Mahar which is not determined during the contract. Paid to the bride and groom following the rate and rating of the bride's sisters' dowry.
Here are some dowry designs, hopefully they can be useful.
