Release candidate for study launch. Updated App Copy.
Achievement Studies invites you to download the Heat2021 app to participate in research intended to better understand people’s experiences around menopause-related events and the use of wearable devices. Achievement Studies, a product of Evidation Health, enables individuals to participate in innovative studies designed to advance scientific understanding of different health conditions and technologies.
Heat2021 is an online research project exploring how digital devices, like mobile app notifications and wearable activity tracking devices, can be used to understand experiences with menopause-related events. You’ll use this app for the following:
Complete enrollment for the project
Connect additional apps and collect data for the project
Manage your Achievement Studies account
Keep track of your upcoming and past research activities (i.e., surveys)
Research participants should download and use the Heat2021 app only after receiving notice from Achievement Studies directing them to download the app. To participate in this project, you must complete an eligibility screening process and electronically sign the Informed Consent Form provided to you when you registered for the project. To enroll in this research, you must complete pre-enrollment activities and qualify to move forward with the enrollment process (see Landing Page).
As outlined in the Informed Consent Form (ICF), this project uses data from your personal device (i.e. Fitbit, Garmin, and/or Apple Watch/Apple Health Kit) about your steps, sleep, and if available, heart rate or other health data. The Heat2021 app integrates with the Apple Health app to collect data from your Apple Watch and/or Apple Health Kit to use for this research project. Once you download the Heat2021 app, you will be asked to allow or disallow the research team access to each of the health data types in the Apple Health app (for example, heart rate and sleep). Data will be collected continuously from the time you connect your device to the app for up to 8 weeks for the purposes of the research project. If you decide you no longer want to participate in the project and/or would like to delete the Heat2021 app, you are provided with instructions from the research team on how to delete the app or disallow the access to health data types in the Apple Health app. You can also delete the app or disallow access to the data types at any time without contacting the research team. If you do not delete the Heat2021 app or disconnect your device after the end of the project, Evidation Health may continue to receive data from the app for up to 6 additional weeks.
This app is for research purposes only. It is not intended to, nor should it be used to replace professional medical advice.
