Euchre (or Eucre) is a trick-taking card game played with a deck of 24 cards. Euchre card game is commonly played in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Great Britain, and the United States.
Euchre is a 4-player trump card game. The four players are divided into two teams. The standard Euchre game uses a deck of cards consisting of A, K, Q, J, 10, and 9 of each of the four suits.
Each player is dealt five cards and one is flipped in the middle. The players have to decide if they choose the suit of the kitty and give the card to the dealer. If no one chose the trump, the second trump-choosing round will begin and the players can pick any trump suit. If no one chooses a trump in the second round, the cards will be shuffled again.
In Euchre, the Jack in the suit of the same color becomes a member of this trump suit. E.g. if the trump suit is Hearts and the user has a Jack of Diamonds, the Jack of Diamonds will be considered a hearts suit.
When choosing the Euchre trump, players can choose to play alone.
In the Euchre game, you can win a round by winning at least 3 tricks.
The team that chooses trump is called “The Makers” and the other team is called “The Defenders”
Euchre card game scoring:
If The Makers win 3 or 4 tricks, they receive 1 point
If The Makers win 5 points, they receive 2 points
If The Bidder goes alone and wins 3 or 4 points, the team receive 1 point
If The Bidder goes alone and wins 5 points, the team receives 4 points
If The Defenders win 3 or more tricks, they receive 2 points
The game continues until one of the teams reaches the target score to win the Euchre game.
