"Surakshit Ghar" is a mobile application developed by National Reconstruction Authority with technical support from Build Change to provide earthquake affected and at-risk communities in Nepal, the information they need to rebuild and retrofit houses and schools safely.The main objective of this app is to promote safe and earthquake resistant constructions in Nepal. This application has 6 different key features at the moment.
* Safe Construction Practices:
Provides access to earthquake resistant construction practice, includes ten key steps to building back safer along with construction guidelines with detail description of key messages and short videos on key messages in action.
* Work Site Safety :
Provides Work site safety information and check lists (for both homeowners and masons) to ensure safe building constructions.
* House Designs:
Provides the list of government approved house designs (including bill of quantities and costs) giving homeowners, especially in rural areas, access to the resources needed to build a safe house. This tab also contains checklists about what things needs to be considered while constructing a new house.
* Trained Masons List:
Provides the list of trained masons and their contacts, allowing homeowners to get in contact directly with builders who have proven to have the skills needed to build earthquake resistant houses.
*Engineers List:
Provides the contact information of engineers deployed in the VDCs/Municipalities of earthquake affected districts.
* Contact Details:
The ability to ask for help. This feature will allow homeowners to virtually ask engineers for technical assistance, including giving coordinates of where they would like to build and having an engineer check it against our hazard mapping.
