ShalaSwachhtaGunak (SSG) is a real-time WASH benchmarking and capacity building program initiated by Government of Gujarat with the leadership of SamagraSiksha, Gujarat and support of UNICEF.
It enables gathering concurrent data on WASH indicators to understand the existing situation better. It is expected to enable development of SSAP plans to assess the gaps and mobilize and leverage resources from available development programme. It expands the scope for recognizing the district and block level schools for SwachhVidyalayaPuraskar and sustain improved sustainable WASH services in schools.
There are two components covered under ShalaSwachhtaGunak-
1. Benchmarking of schools on SVP indicators
2. Training of teachers on WASH compliance and COVID-19 preparedness of schools for reopening.
Objectives:
• To Access / Update the real time information on WASH performance of all schools in the State.
• Use reports generated for improvement, planning & decision making.
• E-Learning modules on COVID preparedness and WASH in Schools for teachers
• Enhance understanding, ownership & performance of schools and key stakeholders about WASH in schools.
• Improve the coverage of schools for SwachhVidyalayaPuraskar.
