What is Razz?
Razz, also known as Ace-to-Five Lowball or Seven-Card-Stud Low, is a deceptively simple and extremely fun variant of Poker.
* The lowest hand wins.
* 5, 4, 3, 2, A makes the best hand possible.
* Pairs suck.
* Trips suck even more.
* Quads suck the most!
* Flushes do not matter.
* A wheel straight is -awesome!-
* 7-5-4-3-2 beats 8-4-3-2-A.
Also,
* It's a limit game.
* Each player gets seven cards.
* Three cards to begin, one more on each street.
* First two and the last cards are face down.
* Five overall rounds of betting.
* Maximum of four bets and raises per street.
A Little Bit About The Razzbots
Have you ever been frustrated when playing against "AI" poker bots because they always seem to do the same thing? You raise, they fold. You check, they bet. If it takes Artificial Intelligence to pull off something that boring then I don't want it!
That's why I painstakingly developed the Razzbots so they play REAL Razz! As an actual poker player, I understand when it would be smart, or ridiculous, to make a play. I developed six distinct "types" of Razzbots and gave them -just- enough of an idea how to play their style. But I also added a bit of randomness so you never quite know what they'll do!
* The Calling Stations call a lot.
* The Maniac is way too aggressive.
* The Fish makes.. such stupid moves.. dang.
* The Donkey is better than The Fish.. but that's not saying much.
* The Mouse is quite timid.
* The Shark knows when to switch up its style!
Right now it's a secret as to which types you're playing against, just to make it a little harder.
Every game will be different! The first thing that happens is you get a randomly drawn table of Razzbot types. You could get a table of Maniacs and be done in one hand (for better or worse!)
About The Gameplay
Right now this game offers an "SNG", or "Sit n Go", single-table tournament style. Just choose your buy in and how fast you want the limits to increase and you're ready to play!
