game I plan on updating
Thanks to everyone who got me to 100 subs, my plan is to update this game with every milestone I reach, so as it stands, at 100 subs this game is kinda terrible. if you haven't seen it already and you plan on playing the game please see my youtube video explaining how to play. or if you feel up for the challenge don't and go ahead and test how unintuitive the game play is.
again I only released this game because I just wanted to put something out there, I intend to add tones of new cards, stats, personalized decks, allowing for many different play styles. and most importantly I hope to improve the visual quality of the game so it doesn't look like your kids 8th grade computer science mid term.
I should probably talk about the game a little.
this is a card game were you play against an "AI" (really it just makes random choices with zero amount of intellect)
1.) at the beginning of the round you draw 5 cards, and will need to select your Action Cards
think of the deck as all the possible moves you have at your disposal during a fight.
think of your draw hand as the moves that are available to you right now.
and think of your Action Cards as the moves you would like to use on your opponent.
each of the cards has an Action Cost displayed at the bottom of the card.
you can add as many cards to your action hand as you like as long as you have the required amount of Action Points at your disposal (the cost of all cards goes up by 1 for each action card in your hand.your stats are on the right, the enemies stats are on the left, the number on the bottom is the number of action points currently available to you)
select the action cards you would like for this round and then assign stamina to them using the arrows (the "v" and the "^"....look I didn't feel like putting a whole lot of effort into the alpha since I'm going to be changing so much in the future)
after you have the desired actions with the desired moves press ready.(if nothing happens that's normal, in all of my genius I didn't think to put any kind of visual que that the game had acknowledged you pressing the button) if the ai is done picking its cards the action phase will start, if not just wait for it to finish picking.
2.) when the action phase starts, the first player to finish picking there action cards and assigning there stamina, is the player that goes first.
when it is the action phase and it is your turn, you may pick from any card in your action hand. just tap it... pretty simple phase.
3.) the response phase is a bit more complicated, if the player who's turn it is chose a defense card, you must play an offence card. if they chose an offence card you must play a defense card.(right now the only offence card is strike and the only defense card is block so that should make things easy)
cards from your draw hand and action hand can be used as response cards. however cards from your draw hand can only be played as a response provided you have the required amount of stamina to use it.(stamina is the middle number on the right of the screen)
after a response card is played. we figure out what happened.
if the action card is a block and the responder didn't have a strike then the amount of power on the block is dealt in damage toward the responders stamina
if the action card is a block and the response card is a strike then nothing happens and the next player takes there turn
if the action card is a strike and the response is a block, then if the strike has more power then the block then the responder takes damage to there health equal to its power minus the power of the block.
that being said you can use a strong block to beat a powerful hit, or a weak block to bate out strong attacks to waist the enemies stamina
respite, when played, restores 2 stamina, there is no response phase and the next player chooses there next action card
repeat till neither of you have any action cards left
draw new cards, repeat till someone has 0 hp
