Updated to latest Pennsylvania Department of Health documentation.
When every minute counts, the Penn Rescue application provides pre-hospital personnel with the tools they need to save lives in seconds. Don’t waste time scrolling through your phone searching for numbers, references or directions. Penn Medicine invites you to access Penn Rescue, an app for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. The ability of the pre-hospital provider to care for the critically ill or injured is crucial to the outcome of the patient. We realize the importance of that “golden hour” and designed the app with the pre-hospital provider in mind.
Penn Rescue is a reference tool to allow for immediate access to Regional Medical Command numbers, Pennsylvania ALS and BLS protocols, as well as GPS functionality to help locate and navigate to the closest appropriate hospital / trauma center or pre-designated helicopter landing zone. The app is an essential toolkit that contains important EMS references including EMS medications, APGAR scoring, frequently referenced telephone numbers, a burn percentage calculator and more.
The Penn Rescue app can assist EMS personnel to efficiently reference patient care tools, expedite medical command contact, identify the nearest medical facilities, and provide navigation directions to the closest appropriate hospital or landing zone. Penn Medicine is committed to the community and those who serve it. Penn Rescue plans to provide updates about upcoming EMS continuing educational opportunities and in a future update will allow for requests for follow up.
