Two bug fixes:
1) Retains settings for Host Plays radio button
2) Prevents the screen from locking when using the accelerometer
Race with your friends or colleagues to roll balls into holes in a wooden maze. The shape of the maze hides a QR keyword secretly chosen by the host of the game. The winner is the first player to fill all of the holes with balls and reveal the keyword.
When the balls are in place, the maze can be read with a QR reader and the winner shouts out the secret keyword to claim the glory. If one or more players do not have access to a QR reader, no problem! The host can set up the game so that the secret keyword is revealed to the players when all their balls are correctly located - without a QR reader.
This game would most likely be played with friends that are located together, though it could also be fun to play remotely, while connected together through a chat app.
The game would be fun to play at corporate events, eg, between rounds in a quiz night. The game would work well at children's or adult parties or at school during breaks.
A game typically takes between 2 and 5 minutes to play depending on game difficulty settings.
Game Options.
1) Host watches vs host Plays
The game is a multiplayer game and is intended to be played with 2 - 10 players each competing against each other, with a single host. There must always be a host of a game, and typically the host will provide a game commentary to the players by watching the progress/scores of the players, and keeping them entertained while they play. However, the game can be played by one player. This is achieved by hosting a game, then the host selecting "host plays" from the contol options menu.
2) Game difficulty level.
The balls are guided into the holes by little "magnets" pulling them in place. The stronger the magnet, the easier it is to play. There are 5 levels of difficulty ranging from very easy (with assistance from a strong magnet) to very hard (with virtually no assistance from a magnet).
3) QR Mode.
The normal setting assumes that players don't have access to a second device with a QR code, so rather than reading the QR maze they will be given the code when they complete the maze instead. All they have to do is shout it out to win the game!
However, if players are in teams of two or more (such as in a team quiz) then the game can be played on QR mode, for extra fun. Each player running this game will have a teammate with a QR reader loaded on their device. The teammate with the QR reader points the reader at the game device. When the player gets sufficient balls in the holes, the reader will automatically decipher the QR keyword and display it. The player or teammate then shouts out the answer to the host, to win. Note, in this mode, not all balls, will have to be located since QR readers are capable of reading QR codes with a few missing. Typically, around 85% of the balls will need to be located before the reader can read the secret keyword.
