This app is built around a 5-minute strategy to day trade stocks and options. The 5-minute rule is implemented on a stock's 5-minute chart. The first candle of the regular trading session sets the high and low threshold. If a subsequent candle is completely above the hight threshold (the low of a following candle is greater than the 1st 5-minute high), it is a signal, or trigger to go long the stock or buy calls. It is the same strategy for going short or buying puts. If a subsequent candle is completely below the low threshold (the high of a following candle is less than the 1st 5-minute low), it is a signal, or trigger, to sell short or buy puts.
The app allows the user to select a list of stocks that are tracked. If a 'buy calls' or 'buy puts' is triggered, it is indicated on the app's screen. If a 5-minute closing low is lower than a prior 5-minute candle (when going long), or a 5-minute closing high is higher than a prior 5-minute candle (when going short), the phone will vibrate.
In addition, if a signal to go long is triggered and a subsequent candle closes below the 1st 5-minute high, that signal is removed. It is the same situation for going short and a subsequent close is above the 1st 5-minute low ... that signal is removed.
