कुम्भ हमारी संस्कृति में कई दृष्टियों से महत्त्वपूर्ण है। पूर्णताः प्राप्त करना हमारा लक्ष्य है, पूर्णता का अर्थ है समग्र जीवन के सात एकता, अंग को पूरे अंगी की प्रतिस्मृति, एक टुकड़े के रूप में होते हुए अपने समूचे रूप का ध्यान करके अपने छुटपन से मुक्त।
कुंभ हिंदू धर्म का सबसे पुराना और पवित्र धार्मिक मेला है। भारत में तीन तरह के कुंभ लगते हैं। ये कुंभ, महाकुंभ और अर्धकुंभ के नाम से जाने जाते हैं।कुंभ पर्व हिंदू धर्म का एक महत्वपूर्ण पर्व है, जिसमें करोड़ों श्रद्धालु कुंभ पर्व स्थल हरिद्वार, प्रयाग, उज्जैन और नासिक में स्नान करते हैं।
कुंभ पर्व अत्यंत पुण्यदायी होने के कारण प्रयाग में स्नान करने से अनंत पुण्यलाभ होता है। इसीलिए यहां करोड़ों श्रद्धालु साधु संत इस स्थान पर एकत्रित होते हैं। कुंभ मेले के काल में अनेक देवी देवता, मातृका, यक्ष, गंधर्व तथा किन्नर भी भूमण्डल की कक्षा में कार्यरत रहते हैं। साधना करने पर इन सबके आशीर्वाद मिलते हैं तथा अल्पावधि में कार्यसिद्धि होती है।
Maha Kumbha Mela is a major pilgrimage and festival in Hinduism. It is celebrated in a cycle of approximately 12 years at four river-bank pilgrimage sites: the Prayagraj (Ganges-Yamuna Sarasvati rivers confluence), Haridwar (Ganges), Nashik (Godavari), and Ujjain (Shipra). In this context year, 2021 has been marked for the MahaKumbh Mela which is held at Haridwar, is one of the four sites of Kumbh Mela, the other being Prayagraj, Trimbak(Nashik), and Ujjain.
The Kumbh Mela is Anchored in Hindu Mythology. It's the largest public gathering and collective act of faith, anywhere in the world. The Mela draws tens of millions of pilgrims over the course of approximately 48 days to bathe at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, the Yamuna, and the mystical Sarasvati. Primarily, this congregation includes ascetics, sadhus, sadhvis, kalpvasis, and pilgrims from all walks of life.
