This welding handbook was written in order to help welders in better understanding the operation principles of several welding processes and thermal cutting and to give them basic knowledge about technology application of most commonly used methods. The handbook is intended for welding school students, but also it can be used by all who want to learn about the welding processes: MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG, gas welding or thermal cutting processes. For these welding processes are given principles, regime parameters, and techniques of performing the procedures, which, as a whole, gives a complete picture of each of these processes.
The book gives the reader all the findings that are necessary to obtain the attribute of a "good" welder. A good welder, in addition to the skills he (or she) acquires through practical work, should have the theoretical knowledge, which with the knowing of the process, involves base knowledge of materials (basic and additional), the welding and thermal cutting possibilities for the most commonly used materials, and knowledge related to the safe application of the given procedures.
Given that probably more than 2/3 of the world steel production is processed by welding and that the production of steel in the world is growing every day, we can conclude that the global industry needs for the welders also grows, which can serve as a decisive factor for young students in the choice for welding professions.
