Initial release of SIGN Patient Information app, using Quris platform version 3.0.7
This app provides digital access to patient/public versions of the SIGN guidelines. It aims to empower patients and the public to:
Take more control over decisions about their health and care.
Self-manage their conditions with support from health professionals.
Participate with confidence in discussions with health professionals about their health and wellbeing.
SIGN (the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network) develops and disseminates national clinical guidelines containing recommendations for effective practice based on current evidence. In this way, SIGN helps to improve the quality of health care for patients in Scotland.
The patient/public versions translate the SIGN guideline recommendations originally produce for health professionals into a form that is easier for patients and the public to understand and use.
This web and mobile app goes one step further by presenting the content in a digital structure that makes it easy for patients to quickly get to the information they need. It also incorporates tools and features to support self-management.
The content of this app will grow over time as more SIGN patient/public information booklets are converted into this digital form.
