About Marcus Aurelius
Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor who lived from 26 April 121 AD to 17 March 180 AD. He was born in Rome and died in Vienna (or Vindobona, as the city was called then).
He is one of the most important Stoic philosophers and his writings published in the Meditations are appreciated and read by millions of people around the world.
During his lifetime he endured many difficulties including a deathly disease and betrayal, but still managed to maintain his rule driven by reason.
