Go-Neko! is a cute variant of Gomoku (otherwise known as Caro, Omok, Gobang, or Five in a Row) where you can play online versus players all over the world.
Go-Neko! is an abstract strategy board game traditionally played with black and white stones (but in this case it's black and white kitties) on a Go board, using 15x15 grid intersections.
Players alternate turns placing a kitty on an empty intersection - the winner is the first player to form an unbroken chain of five kitties of their color in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
In Go-Neko there are a few different game types -- Local play, Casual play, Ranked play, and friend matches.
Casual and Ranked matchmaking both give you a 60 second timer to make each move so that your online games don't last forever! However, if you invite a friend to play with you you can take as long as you want.
Ranked matchmaking offers an ELO system and a leaderboard where you can compete for the highest ranks!
You can also view your match history to see how many in a row you've won/lost, who your opponent was, and watch your replay back for self-improvement if your opponent bested you with a tricky move!
Future versions of Go-Neko! will include:
• Computer (AI) Play with varying difficulties.
• Monthly rewards for the highest rated players.
• Push Notifications for when your opponent has played a move, so you don't need to be as focused on your games, can browse/use your other apps as you play.
• Friends List to easier invite your friends to play.
• and much more! (Leave feedback of what other features you'd like to see and we'll get them in there as soon as we can!)
Go-Neko! hardly has any ads, each player will get 1 ad after each game (and if that's too bothersome for you you can get Go-Neko! PRO for just 1 dollar and play completely ad-free forever!)
