Official Mobile App of CCSHAU for crop-weather information to farmers of Haryana
Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University popularly known as CCSHAU, is one of Asia's biggest agricultural universities, located at Hisar in the Indian state of Haryana. It is named after India's seventh Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh. It is a leader in agricultural research in India and contributed significantly to Green Revolution and White Revolution in India. It won the Indian Council of Agricultural Research's Award for the Best Institute in 1997 and Sardar Patel Outstanding Institution Award-2016.
Crop weather information is a key component in improving the agricultural production and thus leading to improved rural livelihoods, food security and national economy. It is envisaged to outreach crop weather information to all farming households in the State through modern means of communication. The Agrometeorologists (Dr M.L.Khichar, Dr Ram Niwas and Dr Anil Kumar) of the Department Agril. Meteorology, CCSHAU Hisar has developed “Emausamhau Krishi Mausam Sewa” under Agromet decision support system for Climate Smart Agriculture project approved in Technical Programme. Mobile App “Emausamhau Krishi Mausam Sewa” provide the flexibility in providing various information related to agriculture like district weather forecasts, present weather, weather based crop advisory and crop package and practices of University in Hindi. Emausamhau Mobile App is exclusively dedicated to farmers of Haryana State with the collaboration of IMD and various departments/directorates of the University. The Emausamhau Mobile App will enhance the profit of farm through reducing input costs for farm management or through increasing productivity by minimizing farm losses due to weather vagaries.
