At Turing we utilize the Pomodoro Technique which uses regularly scheduled breaks in order to maximize mental acuity. One of the instructors at Turing implores us to use this time to "Go look at a tree!" As a remote student in Florida, I found that the weather was often too inclement to go look at a tree during our scheduled POMs.
I built this app, which consumes an API from the US National Weather Service, to determine if and when a user can go outside given weather thresholds that the user selected. The user is presented the number of hours they can go outside for or for how long they must wait. They are presented with a list of hours that meet their selected thresholds and can add and remove any number of these hours to their personal calendar.
This app is a PWA built using TypeScript, React, Tailwind, Material UI,
and Firebase Firestore. Cypress is used for testing. GitHub Actions is used for CI/CD.
