KSMA promotes the importance of scrap business for the preservation of the environment by connecting the members partaking in scrap business for creating a collective awareness and thus adhering to its moto - "Join hands to save the earth through recycling".
Adhering to the above moto , the need for sustainability cannot always be met completely with people collecting scrap from homes and business premises without any awareness. There are areas where scrap collection, recycling and disposal is still a challenge. Factors like unfair price, no unified pricing systems, lack of knowledge in handling scraps with its associated risks, improper disposal, ignorance about correct recycling methods etc are a few to name. As a movement to prioritize environmentally friendly waste disposal and an adherence to net zero emission , the Kerala Scrap Merchants Association (KSMA) is introducing a digital touch for recycling. How does it work?
Start by creating an account.
You can create an order of items by choosing different categories (Paper, steel, iron, plastic, cardboard etc) that can be sold to the vendor.
Now you can upload images of the items to be sold and then the order will be finalized.
Upon creation of the order, all the nearby vendors will get a notification.
You will get quotes from different vendors and you can accept the quote feasible to you .
Once accepted the quote and the job will be assigned to that vendor.
Vendor staff will come to pick up the items.
After inspecting and picking up the products, the vendor employees will pay the money and close the transaction, completing the order.
