The QR Scanner app provides the ability to scan part number and serial number of components that are replaced in the vehicles by service technicians. Scanning shall be done to keep track of how the vehicle is configured during its lifecycle. The app makes it convenient to do this without manual entering of part and serial numbers in other systems, it also results in less paperwork. The vehicle is first identified in the app by scanning the unique Vehicle Identification Number, VIN. After scanning VIN the technicians can scan the QR codes for the new components.
