In-order to accelerate deployment of large-scale grid-connected rooftop
solar power plants in Surat Smart City, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC)
in-association with The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) has developed
an Android-based mobile application which consist useful information
regarding the installation of grid-connected solar rooftop solar PV system
such as Central policy, State policy, Regulations, and relevant documents
etc.
Furthermore, the “Surat Solar” mobile application will enable residential
and non-residential consumers of Surat Smart City to carry-out preliminary
assessment of a rooftop solar PV system using ‘Rooftop Calculator’, and
apply Online directly through this single-window platform.
Note: SMC is playing the role of facilitator for installation of
grid-connected solar rooftop systems, and SMC will aggregate the demand of
solar rooftop and transfer it to Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA)/
Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Limited for further installation
through their selected agencies.
