Aakanksha is the annual youth festival of the Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University which is celebrated since many years. It gives a break from the monotonous academic routine and provides a platform to the students of Institute of Science for the expression and fulfillment of their extracurricular talent. Further, it enhances social interaction and facilitates exchange of several ideas and thoughts.
It’s not just a fest, it’s a celebration. It is a celebration of student’s aspiration by the Institute!!!
It is truly of the Students, By the Students, and For the Students!!! It is exclusively coordinated by a hardworking and dedicated team of students from undergraduate and postgraduate departments of the Institute of Science.
It is the largest festival of BHU in terms of number of events. In total, there are 49 events encompassing multitude of genre of events like Literary, Cinematic, Theatre, music, dance and Fine Arts along with Mini Marathon, treasure hunt, Sudoku and science exhibition. Every year, the season of Aakanksha comes in mid- January and continue up to the second week of February with the final extravaganza at Swatantrata Bhawan. Every year this festival comes with new color.
