Warringa Park is a dual mode school which caters for all children with an intellectual disability and has a current enrolment of 431 students. Warringa Park School is committed to assisting our students to be the best they can be in all that they do. Students are at the centre of all learning and we strive to ensure that they have the best facilities, resources, teachers and education support staff to enable them to learn and grow into responsible citizens.
The school’s Science and Technology specialism is a key driver of the learning that takes place at Warringa and we have a learning partnership with the Werribee Zoo. We are in the first year of establishing a new campus at Bethany Road for our Year 9 and 10 students. Our wonderful Cayleys Road campus for Year 11 and 12 students with complex needs is located in the rural setting of Werribee South. The school’s VCAL program based in South Melbourne, provides exciting opportunities for students in Years 11 and 12 to access accredited programs and to learn and experience what Melbourne has to offer.
The school’s one to one iPad program enables students to have greater independence in their learning and increases students’ ability to communicate with others and to engage in a classroom environment that can be tailored to their individual needs as a learner. Since 2012, the school has been recognised as Apple Distinguished School for its achievements in using technology to support and enhance the learning of the students.
The school has a growing enrolment which is indicative of the excellent programs and the high quality staff who work with the students.
We welcome parent involvement in our school to ensure that our students have access to all the supports they require in their learning.
