Description:

The Vedas are a gathering of songs and different religious writings formed in India between around 1500 and 1000 BCE. It incorporates components, for example, ceremonial material and additionally fanciful records, sonnets, petitions, and equations thought to be holy by the Vedic religion

The Vedas are a large body of texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism.

The Vedas are said to be apauruṣeya. They are supposed to have been directly revealed, and thus are called śruti ("what is heard"), distinguishing them from other religious texts, which are called smṛti ("what is remembered").

There are two primary versions of Samhitas of the Yajurveda: Shukla (white) and Krishna (black). Both contain the verses necessary for rituals, but the Krishna Yajurveda includes the Brahmana prose discussions mixed within the Samhita, while the Shukla Yajurveda has separately a Brahmana text, the Shatapatha Brahmana.

The Sanskrit word véda means "knowledge, wisdom" is derived from the root vid- "to know". The Vedas are a large body of texts originating in ancient India.

Hindus believe that the soul passes through a cycle of successive lives and its next incarnation is always dependent on how the previous life was lived. Karma is the cause of our particular destiny. Misfortunes in our present life are the result of acts that we have committed in the past. In the same way, our actions in our present lives will determine our fate in the lives that follow.

We have a big collection of Hindu Spiritual text collections in English translation. We have all Hindu Vedas in English and Bhagwat Geeta in English translation. Also, we have many ancient Hindu Yoga books texts in English.

As historical and religious literature often is the text is written from the perspective of the most powerful groups: the priests and warrior-kings. Scholars say it is therefore unlikely that it represents the totality of religious belief and practice in India in the first millennium BCE. This perspective is especially evident in the earlier parts of the Vedas, in which the primary concerns are war, rain, and dealing with the "slaves," meaning native inhabitants of India.

Hindu Spirituality and Mysticism quotations page is one of a series of seven pages on our site that consider extensive! range of deep! agreement about important aspects of spirituality and spiritual mysticism between several major World Religions.
