"Devrai" is a Marathi word for The Sacred groves of India. It means; a dense but well-managed plantation generally on the outskirts of villages. Devrai is a pretty old concept and references can be found in old literature.
Sahyadri Devrai is a NGO, dedicated to the effort of replanting Devrais in the Sahyadri region, care for them and help barren landscapes become green jungles again.
Sahyadri Devrai believes in the premise that by taking efforts to replant these jungles, will eventually increase the depleted ground water levels and bring socio-economic growth to the region
