अनेकार्थी शब्द - जिनके एक से अधिक अर्थ निकलते
वंही पर्यायवाची शब्दों की बात करे तो एक शब्द के एक से अधिक समान अर्थ इनके भी निकलते
अनेकार्थी शब्द - अनेकार्थी शब्दों जो अर्थ होते है असल वे केवल शब्दों के रूप होते है , अनेकार्थी अर्थो का शब्द के साथ कोई सम्बन्ध नहीं होता

एकार्थी शब्द - एकार्थी शब्दों की बात करे तो ऐसे शब्द जिनका साधारणतः एक ही अर्थ होता , ऐसे शब्दों को एकार्थी कहते हैं
बहुत से शब्द ऐसे , जिनका अर्थ देखने और सुनने में एक–सा लगता , ध्यान से देखने पर पता चलता कि उनमें कुछ अन्तर भी है ऐसे शब्द एकार्थी के अंतर्गत आते है
