The mosque is a place of worship for Muslims. Mosque means place of prostration, and other designation for mosque in Indonesia is musholla, langgar or surau. The term is reserved for mosques that are not used for Friday prayers, and are generally small in size. Besides being used as a place of worship, the mosque is also the center of Muslim community life. The activities of big day celebrations, discussions, religious studies, lectures and learning of the Qur'an are often carried out in mosques.
Mihrab is part of a mosque building or mushalla which is usually used as a place of imams leading congregational prayers. Mihrab can also mean a place closer to God.
