The annual INSPIRE Awards - MANAK competition is jointly implemented by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and National Innovation Foundation (NIF) India and its 8th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC) is being organized in a virtual mode between 23 rd and 27th April, 2021.
Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) – Awards MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Government of India and world’s largest competition of ideas and innovations by school students.
The scheme aims to motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in classes 6 to 10. The objective of the scheme is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children. Under this scheme, schools can nominate 5 best original ideas/innovations of students through www.inspireawards-dst.gov.in
During 8th NLEPC, students from all States and Union Territories (UT’s) in India who have been shortlisted after a series of District and State Level Exhibition and project Competition (D/SLEPC) will participate. One can take a virtual tour of the Exhibition and also participate in various sessions.
The 8th NLEPC is scheduled to be inaugurated on 23rd April, 2021 by Prof Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. On 27th April, 2021 sixty students will be conferred with an award by Dr Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare.
