1. Added English language support in all screens of the App, except for those related to the Language of the Novel.
2. New type of test has been added: The Trivial.
This game is designed to foster reading and knowledge of the city. It is a "literary gymkhana" in which each player has to find various real geographical points in the city where the action of a book is set. Once each place has been located, and after each player has solved a problem, they are rewarded with new information so they can keep playing.
The game includes various novels. Each novel has three different itineraries: one for finding out the book and the author, another for answering questions about the book once you have read it and the third for decoding enigmas and puzzles related to the novel and the city. When they finish the gymkhana, the players win prizes linked to the novels.
The players have to complete ten tests per itinerary: a question corresponding to an exact point on the map is not activated until the players reach the exact place.
There are three kinds of test:
• Question - answer
• Taking a photo and, optionally, uploading it to Instagram
• Writing a short text
The game generates a reward for each answered test (illustrations, photos, videos), which the players store on their mobile phones and then continue playing.
The game generates a prize for each completed itinerary: 2x1 tickets or discounts for facilities or institutions that are connected to the plot of the novel.
Every three months, the game awards VIP prizes to the best players for each novel.
The project is run by Barcelona City Council, through the Institute of Culture's Barcelona UNESCO City of Literature Office. It has the support of the authors, the publishing companies, literary agents, bookshops, libraries and the Barcelona Education Consortium.
