The Herd Pregnancy and Servicing Calculator app allows the user to input reproductive parameters from his herd and then calculate the required number of pregnancies and servicing per interval to maintain the herd. To begin, the user should enter the herd size, calving interval, pregnancy loss rate, culling rate and death rate. Then the user should enter the average conception rate for lactating cows and the average conception rate in virgin heifers. To obtain the data for text fields required, you may refer to a report generated by the software present at the farm.
After the parameters have been entered, touch the Pregnancy button (year or month) and values will show the Number of Pregnancies Required by year or month to maintain the herd. The number of pregnancies required will result between lactating cows and virgin heifers. Then, by touching the Servicing button, the app will calculate the Number of Servicing needed by year or month to generate the pregnancies required; the number or servicing will result between lactating cows and virgin heifers and is calculated depending on the average conception rate.
To save the assessment for future reference, touch the email button in the top right corner. To start a new assessment, the user should enter new reproductive parameters.
