Looking for a Bible in Finnish?
This application can help you! It contains the Holy Bible 1933/38 (Raamattu 1933/38)
The Holy Bible 1933/38 was translated into Finnish, the language spoken by the majority of the population in Finland.
This translation replaced the Holy Bible published in 1776, the first edition written in Modern Finnish.
A new translation was needed in the early 20th century. A Translation committee formed by renowned teachers as A W Ingman, Gabriel Geitlin, Juhani Aho, Otto Manninen , AF Cuchillo and Peltonen was set up in 1911. The Old Testament was finished in 1933 and the completed version was published in 1938.
The translation was made in a literal method: one source word, one Finnish word.
More than 5 million of native speakers in Finland, Russia, Estonia, Sweden and Norway can now access the Bible in modern Finnish language.
Most of the Finnish Pentecostal employees use the 1938 translation for Bible study, teaching or evangelism. The Holy Bible has retained its number one position in all aspects of research areas.
