Andy, Bill, Pete, and Steve Jacobs were fresh out of college when they moved to Chicago from New Haven, CT, in 1983 to bring authentic bagels to Chicago. They opened The Bagel Bakery on October 4 of that year at 50 E. Chicago Avenue, and spent the next 16 years baking Chicago's best bagels—crunchy on the outside, chewy in the middle. The brothers are back with their bagels and excited to top them with delicious smears, meats, cheeses, and veggies!
