Commissioner of School Education, Government of AP conducts Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) to shortlist aspirants for the post of a teacher (from Class I to Class VIII) in all schools (Government/ ZP/ MP/ Municipal/ Recognised Private Aided & Private Unaided etc.) in the state of Andhra Pradesh. AP-TET exam is conducted annually typically in the month of October.
Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) is conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Telangana in order to shortlist candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes I to VIII in Telangana State.
APTET comprises of two exams, that is, Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates applying to be appointed as teachers from Class I to Class V (Category I) need to give Paper-I whereas those applying for Class VI to Class VIII (Category II), need to give Paper II.
