In this the cards face up and you build in matching colors instead of alternating colors. You can move sequences, but only if the suits match.
Whitehead Solitaire uses one deck (52 cards). You have 7 tableau piles with the number of cards per pile increasing from one to seven from left to right. All cards are face up. You have 4 foundations.
Aces are moved to the foundations as they become available.
To build the foundations up in suit to kings.
The top cards of tableau piles and the waste pile are available to play. You may build tableau piles down by color (red on red, black on black, regardless of suit.). Groups of cards in sequence in the same suit can be moved as a unit from pile to pile. Empty tableaus may be filled by any available card or build.
When you have made all the moves initially available, begin turning over cards from the stock pile. You can move cards from stock pile to the tableau piles and to the foundations according to the rules mentioned above.

- Build up in suit from Ace to King (for example, a 2Heart Suit can be played on an AceHeart Suit).
Tableau (7 columns)
- Build down by the same color (red on red, black on black regardless of suit). For example, a 10Diamonds Suit can be played on a JackDiamonds Suit or on a JackHeart Suit.
- The top card of each pile is available for play on another tableau pile or on the foundations.
- Cards of the same suit and in a descending sequence may be moved as a unit to another pile (groups of cards not of the same suit cannot be moved).
- Spaces may be filled with any available card or packed sequence.
Stock
- Turn up one card at a time from the stock to the waste by clicking.
- There is no redeal.
Waste (1 pile)
- The top card is available for play on the foundations or the tableau.
