USMS Tips provides the public with a safe and secure way to submit tips to the United States Marshals Service (USMS). The USMS is a federal law enforcement agency responsible for the apprehension of violent fugitives and non-compliant sex offenders, as well as protecting the federal judiciary.
The USMS is the federal government’s primary agency for fugitive investigations. In addition to federal fugitive investigations, the Marshals provide assistance to state and local agencies in locating and apprehending their most violent fugitives. The U.S. Marshals “15 Most Wanted” fugitive program draws attention to some of the country’s most dangerous and high-profile fugitives. The USMS is also the lead federal agency to investigate violations of federal sex offender registration laws and to assist state, local, tribal and territorial jurisdictions. The Marshals’ National Sex Offender Targeting Center supports all levels of law enforcement in pursuing unregistered and noncompliant sex offenders, collaborating with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The USMS is committed to the protection of the judicial process by ensuring the safe and secure conduct of judicial proceedings, and protecting federal judges, jurors, and other members of the federal judiciary.
