The Qur'an is the holy book of the Islamic religion. The Qur'an is the literal word of Allah, revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, over a period of 23 years. The Quran has 114 chapters or surahs, divided into books, sections, parts, and verses. 92 of these chapters were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in the holy city of Mecca, and the other 22 in Medina. The two in Saudi Arabia.
