Salt Mango Tree (SMT), being awarded one of the best places by ‘The Week’ magazine and a recommended pin-up place in Bangalore by the GQ magazine in 2018, brings back Kerala dishes which are now slowly disappearing from culinary world of Kerala. It provides authentic Kerala cuisine in Bangalore while it sources its ingredients directly from Kerala be it Kaima rice (aged short grain rice) or the gold standard Ghee (clarified butter) used in its Thalassery Dum Chicken Biryani, or its spices which are tediously sourced, dried and ground to perfection in the mills for use in its restaurants.
SMT is known for its annual food festivals which include Thattukada festival ( Kerala Street food festival), Biryani Festival, Sea food festival besides Onam and Vishu Sadya (elaborate festive Kerala meals) served on plantain leaf. You can follow SMT on it’s Facebook pages @SaltMangoTreeIndiranagar @SaltMangoTreeWhitefield
The restaurant has its fair share of celebrity walk-in from Indian striker footballer to movie personalities and being a go to Kerala restaurant for an Ex. ISRO chairman.
It has currently two outlets in Bangalore.
