HKUST is a maze to many visitors. Our location sensing technology, which fuses Wi-Fi with other signals such as geomagnetic field, Bluetooth, pedometer/accelerometer/gyroscope and barometer, on mobile platforms, is the first of its kind deployment in Hong Kong to enhance navigating the university campus. We are integrating the technology with HKUST Path Advisor 2.0, to extend its path-finding function to navigate people turn by turn in real-time using their mobiles.
