गरुड़ पुराण वैष्णव संप्रदाय से संबंधित है। सनातन हिंदू धर्म में मृत्यु के बाद गरुड़ पुराण सुनने का प्रावधान है। इस पुराण में मुख्य देवता भगवान विष्णु हैं। इसमें भक्ति, ज्ञान, विस्मृति, पुण्य, निश्चय कर्म, कई लौकिक और अन्य सांसारिक फलों की महिमा के साथ यज्ञ, दान, तप तीर्थ जैसे शुभ कार्यों में आम लोगों के जागरण का वर्णन है। अठारह पुराणों में गरुड़ महापुराण का विशेष महत्व है। इस पुराण में श्राद्ध-तर्पण, मुक्ति के उपायों तथा जीव की गति का विस्तृत वर्णन मिलता है।
The Garuda Purana belongs to the Vaishnava Sanatan Hinduism has the provision of listening to the Garuda Purana after death. The main deity in this Purana is Lord Vishnu.
