Children aged 3-6 are in the preoperational period when their mental image is intuitive physical image and their thoughts are restrained by intuitive expressions, so their understanding of abstract mathematical concept is through real objects. Aiming at addition within 20, “Arithmetic Puzzle” draws children’s attention and improves their interest in mathematics through common objects in life.
