ACSyS: Advanced COVID-19 Syndromic Surveillance System is a concept conceived by Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management and designed and developed by NIC, Gujarat State Centre, Gandhinagar District Collector Office, and FDCA Gujarat State for timely tracing and tracking of suspect cases of COVID-19 to effectively contain its spread in the communities. The system tracks the OTC drug consumption and clinical cases for suspected ILI or COVID-19 like symptoms. The system is having both mobile and web applications. The onboarded drugstores and private doctors are mandated by the district administration for reporting diligently the patients who are taking medicines for the 6 identified symptoms (Fever, Cough, Difficulty in Breathing, Diarrhoea, Cold, and Throat Pain). The reported data is available for the concerned Government Doctors to alert his field health workers to do a home visit and check the vitals and symptoms and take necessary intervention like recommending further testing, hospitalization, etc., The system is managed by District Surveillance Officers of the concerned districts.
