DYTIATKO International Children’s Media Festival was founded in 2009. The festival is nonprofit, participation is free of charge.
The Festival is held among children’s/youth television, animation, cinema- and radio studios, clubs, groups and individual authors, television and radio broadcasters and creative production entities, directors and producers’ centres, which produce programmes and films for children and youth.
The Festival objectives are:
- the establishment and development of contacts between children's/youth studios, experience exchange and further professional development of the participants;
- communication to the general public of interesting, outstanding works and projects from different countries, presentation of the best global practices in the development of children's/youth cinema and television industry;
- the setup of creative and communication platforms to exchange experience and present new projects during the Festival and between the Festival times.
DYTIATKO is films and TV programs different in terms of both genres and topics from children and for children.
International competition programme:
- The Best Fiction Film of a Children's Studio;
- The Best Documentary of a Children's Studio
- The Best Television Programme of a Children's Studio;
- The Best Animation Film of a Children's Studio;
- The Best Music Film (Music Video) of a Children's Studio;
- The Best Radio Programme of a Children's Studio;
- The Best Television Programme for children;
- The Best Feature Film for children;
- The Best Short Film for children;
- The Best Animation Film for children;
- CIFEJ Prize;
- The Prize for creative approach and originality of creative task performance (competition works are created during the Festival, the task is given out at the Festival).
National competition programme:
- «We are Local Self-Government!» (special nomination, under support of the Council of Europe);
- « Ecology of Wildlife: conservation and preservation»;
- «Our peaceful sky» (jointly with Kharkiv aerospace club named after Hryzodubova of Defence Strengthening Society of Ukraine).
The jury also awards prizes:
- Special Jury Prize;
- The Best Director;
- The Best Cameraman;
- The Best TV host(ess);
- The Best TV journalist;
- The Best Actor(ess).
The feature of the DYTIATKO Festival is the fact that children choose the winner in the category “The best television program for children”.
DYTIATKO encompasses workshops, presentations and creative meetings, reviews/screenings and discussions of competitive works, creative tasks and cultural program events.
"At the festival children and adults, newcomers and professionals co-operate for the sake of future. Children study, adults are inspired of such creative urge and creativity of thinking", - sure the president of the festival Sergii Chernov.
The DYTIATKO Festival is not only a screening of the best children films from all over the world, it is also a script pitching - a unique opportunity for children studios or individual young authors, future directors, to present their ideas, find partners and possibly funds for the implementation of one of their future projects. Pitching takes place in two nominations: “Film” and “TV program”.
DYTIATKO International Children’s Media Festival is a member of the ECFA and CIFEJ.
The 11th DYTIATKO International Children's Media Festival will be hold in Kharkov (Ukraine) from 4 to 7 September, 2019.
