To build a shed with pallets is not as weird as it may sound and in fact can be done.
I'm a do it yourself kind of guy but only recently did I start actually using professionally designed building plans which has made a world of difference in not only reducing costs but overall time to complete my projects.
My last improvement/project was how to build a shed with pallets. We had accumulated a lot of junk over the years and were running out of places to put everything so I decided I need to build a storage shed made with pallets. Only problem was, I was not sure exactly what i needed or where to begin.
First thing I did was jump online and I learned how important a good solid foundation was and that I probably would need a building permit. I also found a set of plans that seemed to fit the bill and what I liked most about them was they came with a full material list right down to the last nail - perfect!
They also included lumber cut sizes so I could make sure I bought the right amount of wood and have it cut to the right sizes and then kind of just fit it all together. I used pallets which i had stored away which reduced the cost. Not all plans come like this so make sure you get some that do. Most free plans are just drawings and you kind of have to guess on the material list yourself which can be costly.
Investing in the design aspects of your shed will actually save you money when it comes time to build it, both in material cost and your actual labor time. Being a do it yourselfer does not mean you should go it alone. Creating your own shed plans is difficult and time consuming and you may not do it the right way so just spend a few bucks and get a set of professionally designed blueprints and your project should go smooth as silk. Mine did and my backyard looks great now with its new shed made from pallets.
