This school was established and inaugurated in January, 2005 under the Indira Gandhi
educational Trust, which aims at a comprehensive improvement of educational
standards of people of this area. The foundation of this school building was laid by
Dr.K.J.Yesudas, the legendary nightingale of Kerala. Housed in a prestigious building
located on a hillock at Mambaram, it has a congenial, calm and serene atmosphere for
the process of imparting and acquiring knowledge in a class room.
Indira Gandhi Public school is affiliated to the central Board of secondary education,
New Delhi. The school which is co-educational prepares the students for the All India
secondary school (AISSE) exam X and all India senior school certificate examination
AISSCE XII. The school has 4 section KG, primary I-V, secondary VI-X and senior
secondary XI and XII English is the medium of instruction here. Besides, English,
Hindi, and Malayalam are taught along with other science subjects. Facilities for
computer education has been established with internet connection. Achieving high
educational excellence, high moral standard and discipline are the prime motto of this
school. This school is equipped with a good lab for various science subjects. A library
with reading room and number of periodicals and a vast number of books is also here.
Even though we are endowed with a good playground, we aim at improving it to a high
standard. Now we have a serene Students park on the bank of the Anjarakkandy River,
which would invigorate the students.
